CONEG is pleased to report that Maine’s Governor Mills would like to officially express Maine’s support for several of the climate-related resolutions that the state abstained from in past years. The governor has been in office for only a couple months but it is clear that regional collaboration and progressive environmental and energy efforts are of the utmost importance to her.
The New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers Conference has promoted several resolutions and reports concerning climate related issues including Resolution 40-3: Resolution On Ecological Connectivity, Adaptation to Climate Change, and Biodiversity Conservation; Resolution 41-2: Resolution Concerning the Regional Climate Change Action Plan; The 2017 Update of the Regional Climate Change Action Plan; and Resolution 42-1: Resolution Concerning Adaptation which will be co-chaired by Maine. We are pleased that these important resolutions and reports will now have Maine’s support going forward.
